Assoc. Prof. Alex Whittaker

Co-Founder

 

Alex is trained as a veterinary/animal welfare scientist, behavioural neuroscientist, and lawyer. She has advanced  veterinary  qualifications in animal welfare science, ethics and law, and laboratory animal science. Over the last 20 years she has worked as a university researcher and teacher, animal facility manager, laboratory animal veterinarian, AEC Chair, and Category A member of various AECs. She is a current member of the NHMRC Animal Welfare Committee. Alex holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Certificate of Quality Auditing.



Paula Porter

Co-founder

 

Paula is a lecturer at TAFE SA, coordinating and teaching the Diploma of Animal Technology. With over 25 years of experience as an animal technician, she brings extensive industry knowledge and practical expertise to her teaching. Paula holds diplomas in Animal Technology, Vocational Education and Training, and Positive Psychology. She has served as a primary applicant for animals used in teaching and was a Category B member of the TAFE SA Animal Ethics Committee. Paula is passionate about promoting wellbeing for both animals and people in her care.
